Mercedes-Benz reveals 2013 G-Class - Mercedes-Benz has silently slipped in the first image of the 2013 G-Class SUV. The facelift, underneath the bodywork, stays just like the model revealed back in the 1970?s, laughing at the test of time. The 2013 edition features LED daytime running lights, redesigned side mirrors and relocated front fender vents.

Photographs of the interior has not been published, but reports suggest there could be a revised center stack, a redesigned instrument cluster and a steering wheel borrowed from a new Mercedes-Benz model. The gear knob will also be changed and more importantly the COMAND system will be updated.

Mercedes is yet to present details on the powertrain but AutoMiddleEast.com expects serious changes under the hood of the refreshed G Wagon. A 4.7-liter V8 motor producing 450PS and 700+ Nm of peak torque could be listed. The top of the line variant, the G55 AMG, could be outfitted with a bigger 6-liter V12 engine developing not less than 600hp and 1,000 Nm of torque!

The 2013 Mercedes G-Class may be unveiled at the New York Auto Show that begins on the 4th of April. If not, expect it to be shown at a private function later in April.
