CCG customGT
740-hp German Sports Car with GM Roots - According to CCG, the customGT life begins in the good ol’ USA where the frame is produced. The material used is either fiberglass or carbon-fiber-reinforced composites, depending on how the car is ordered. The body is fine-tuned at CCG’s shop and the overall curb weight ranges from 2249 to 3120 pounds, depending on equipment.
Next up are a two engine choices sourced from General Motors and the Corvette. First up is the LS3, 6.2-liter, V-8-engine tuned to 450 hp. Second is the LS7 engine found in the Corvette Z06. For the custom GT, the 7.0-liter, V-8 is tuned to put out 550 hp with a turbocharged option that boosts power up to 740 hp. Both engines come standard with a six-speed manual and customers have the option to custom select their gear ratios. A six-speed sequential gearbox is also available.
CCG states that the customGT will scoot from 0-62 mph in just 3.3 seconds when powered by the 7.0-liter engine. We assume that time was achieved with the optional turbochargers, since it wasn’t stated in the press release. According to CCG, the powerful and brash powertrain “screams its joie de vivre out of exhaust pipes that are as thick as a man’s arm.” Okay then.
The American and French influence stops there, as the remainder of the components are German, including KW suspension parts, MOV’IT brakes (six-piston calipers up front; four-piston calipers in back). CCG also states that the customGT can be made to run on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), which is eco-friendly, more fuel efficient, and growing in popularity in Europe. Next up on the horizon is a competition model, which will feature a lighter curb weight, special engine mapping, and racing brake.
For now, the customGT can be yours — provided you live in Europe and have 113.000,00 euros ($158,923 with today’s rates) to spend.
