Ford Explorer Sport 2013 - The last time we remember talking about a high-performance Ford Explorer was 2007 when a rare Saleen Explorer XP8 popped up on eBay Motors. For the 2013 model year, however, Ford will start producing high performance Explorers right at the factory. Dubbed the Explorer Sport, this new addition to the Explorer lineup sports the same twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 found in the Taurus SHO, Flex, F-150 and Lincoln MKS and MKT. It produces the least amount of power in this application – 350 horsepower – and while Ford doesn't mention torque figures in the press release below, we can assume somewhere around 350 lb-ft.




Ford is projecting fuel economy numbers in the neighborhood of 16 miles per gallon in the city and 22 mpg highway, and says the Explorer Sport can also tow up to 5,000 pounds. Other tweaks to get this three-row crossover dancing include reinforcements to the chassis, a faster ratio for its electric steering system, a unique 3.16:1 final drive ratio and larger brakes. There are also paddles to shift the six-speed automatic transmission and special settings for the Explorer's Terrain Management System.

When treating the Explorer Sport to a few exterior changes, Ford designers went with a dark theme, blacking out the lighting elements, roof rails and sideview mirrors, as well as the grille, lower front fascia and wheel faces. Inside the Explorer Sport gets Charcoal Black leather seating, with or without contrasting inserts, and special stitching on the seats and steering wheel.

No pricing was given, but the new Sport model will sit atop the Explorer line, which means a base price north of the Explorer Limited's at $38,180. Ford is showing the Explorer Sport at a media event near its headquarters in Dearborn as we speak, so stay tuned for the first live images of the Explorer Sport as we get them.

Review Harga 2013 Ford Taurus - 2013 Ford Taurus Review and Price - After some lean years when it was called the Ford Five Hundred, the Ford Taurus finally resonated with the customers, with full-year sales rising 51 percent in 2010 when it was last updated.

An all-new 2013 Ford Taurus, revealed at the April 2011 New York International Auto Show, aims to build on that success. The 2013 Taurus is expected to go on sale in the spring of 2012.

The 2013 Taurus gets a major facelift, with a new grille panel, incorporating the same kind of inverted trapezoid at the bottom center of the nose as the Fiesta and Focus. The hood has been reshaped with a larger power dome, and the headlights redesigned. Like the Chevrolet Volt and Malibu, the new Taurus will have shutters built into the grille that close for highway fuel economy improvement at higher speeds and open for engine cooling at lower speeds. The LED taillamps and rear spoiler have been restyled as well, with more wraparound red lens showing up on the rear fender than the taillamps on the 2009 model.

The 2013 Ford Taurus will be available in SE, SEL, and Limited models. All will have the updated and upgraded 290-horsepower, 255-foot-pound 3.5-liter V6 engine as standard equipment.

A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost engine featuring direct fuel injection and variable valve timing will be available for improved fuel economy. The 2.0-liter engine will be rated at 237 horsepower and 250 foot-pounds of torque, and will achieve at least 31 miles per gallon highway, according to Ford Motor Company.

All Taurus models will use a 6-speed double overdrive automatic transmission.

The 2013 Ford Taurus SHO will feature the 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo direct-injection V6 engine, rated at 365 horsepower and 350 foot-pounds of torque, coupled to Ford's computer-controlled part-time all-wheel-drive system. The SHO uses the same 6-speed automatic transmission as the other models but gets paddle shifters on the steering wheel. The Taurus SHO will come with 19-inch alloy and black-painted wheels with Michelin high-performance tires.

The SHO version has its own black mesh upper and lower grilles, without the shutters, a new front-fender SHO badge that replaces the tiny C-pillar badge on the existing model, and black mirror housings.

An optional SHO Performance Pack will include upgraded suspension, upgraded cooling, upgraded brakes, 20-inch wheels with Goodyear F1 245/45YR20 tires, a lower final-drive ratio, and a Track mode for the traction-control system that turns it off completely for racetrack running.

Ford says the 2013 Taurus will feature better braking performance, electric power steering, torque vectoring and cornering control, active park assist, adaptive cruise control. Options will include MyFordTouch vehicle control systems, a heated steering wheel, multi-contour front seats with massage, automatic high-beams, rain-sensing wipers, a rear-window sunshade, and a rearview camera. All Taurus interiors will have more and better luxury materials and quieter cabins due to the inclusion of more sound-deadening materials in the roof and cowl.

2013 Ford Flex: First Drive - The boxy Ford Flex wagon isn't just fashionable; it would be on our shortlist of best vehicles to take on a cross-country trip; and for carrying six adults out for the evening; and for busy moms; and for all of an afternoon's ill-advised IKEA purchases.

It's classy, bold, and a little weird, all at the same time, and it stands out from the rest of the Ford lineup, whether you're comparing it to Ford passenger cars or SUVs.

And with some slight changes to the front and rear for 2013, those differences are even more exaggerated. Now Ford has removed any brand badging or even the blue oval from the front, instead adding broadly lettered 'FLEX' label at the leading edge of the hood, a la Range Rover, above an all-new grille—a thick chrome bar running all the way across, working crisp futuristic ways with running lamps and a boxy headlight design, plus unified, straight-across lower air-dam bars. And the only Ford mark on the vehicle is a blue-oval badge, on the lower right corner of the hatch.

Why the different badging? It could have something to do with the fact that about 20 percent of Flex models are sold in California, and that's a higher ratio that any other Ford model.

Utilitarian chic comes home
It's been widely hailed as the modern iteration of the Ford Country Squire, but—especially when in Portland, Oregon, where old Volvo 240 wagons are driven until they die, then driven again—we tend to think of it more as the modern iteration of that classic—even more appropriate as you can trace the Flex's roots back to the Volvo-influenced D3 platform.

As large as the 2013 Flex is (it's 202 inches long, with an also-long 118-inch wheelbase), it's surprisingly manageable to park and drive around the city. It doesn't exactly drive small, but it doesn't feel much more cumbersome than a mid-size sedan.

For 2012, Ford has added a bit more muscle to the base Flex—with a new version of the 3.5-liter V-6, incorporating Ti-VCT (variable camshaft timing) and making 287 hp and 254 lb-ft of torque. EPA fuel economy ratings improve by 1 mpg all around, without any change in gear ratios, to 18 mpg city, 25 highway.

In a drive route around Portland, and along tight, twisty roads over Oregon's Coast Range, we spent a few hours with an EcoBoost version of the 2013 Flex—definitely the most fun to drive. This model continues with its turbocharged, direct-injected 3.5-liter V-6, making 365 hp and 350 lb-ft. With the base engine you can get front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, but the top-of-the-line EcoBoost version comes only with AWD.

EcoBoost models churn out the torque, with a seamless wave as the six-speed automatic upshifts. Steering-wheel paddle shifters are included with this model. You can now give the paddle-shifters a yank in drive, and it'll deliver a quick downshift. The system is smart and considers yaw and steering-angle sensors, as well as throttle, so if you're in the middle of a corner or still climbing a hill, it will stay in the lower gear; but if you ease off the throttle it will go back to the upper gear in as little as ten seconds.

Better steering, stopping
The Flex was surprisingly able on a curvy road before, but with some improvements it's now almost in the fun-to-drive category. Ford's electric power steering system, which was previously only fitted to EcoBoost versions, is now included in all Flex models; it's also hard-mounted to the front subframe and has a quicker steering ratio this year. Brakes are also upgraded with more friction area and a larger master cylinder (plus different booster tuning) for improved pedal feel. Altogether, turn-in is now crisp, the steering loads up predictably, and there's even a little feel of the road coming through; the brakes have a noticeably stronger bite as well.

Inflatable seat belts are new to the Flex this year, and adaptive cruise control (with forward collision alert) and a blind-spot monitoring system are now available. All Flexes also include Curve Control and torque vectoring—both fancy terms to note improvements to the stability control system. AlsoFord has also found a way to replace the old headrests, that pitched your head uncomfortably forward, with a new four-position design that still protects well against whiplash.

The third-row seats are thinly padded, but it's impressive that even this 6'-6” editor could fit acceptably in the third row, with a slight hunch and knees slightly elevated; it would be fine for a jaunt across town, and it's relatively easy to get back there thanks to the roofline. The first two rows of seats are luxurious and have great long-distance comfort.

Ford Mustang Drifts Over Cement Median and into Peugeot 107 - Did the driver of this modded, fifth gen Ford Mustang attempt to drift on purpose or did he simply enter the turn a bit too fast and lost control of the car? Who knows.
The end result is that he (or she, we can't be sure) slid right over the cement median and crashed into a Peugeot 107 on the other side of the road. Bet the Peugeot driver didn't see this coming.

But once in a blue moon you'll find an imported model from Down Under available for grabs in the classifieds like this 1974 Ford Falcon XB Ute.
The Ute is an Australian conception that dates back to 1934 with its creation credited to Ford engineer and designer Lew Bandt who came up with the idea of combining the front cabin of a sedan with the back of a small truck. The most popular Utes in the country are made by local carmakers Holden and Ford. The one you see in these pictures is a 1974 model based on the third generation Falcon and it comes with a 302 cubic inch (4.9-liters) Cleveland V8 matched to a four-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels.
